Baby sleep schedule: What to expect (Plus a free sleep tracking sheet!)

Just when you think you’ve got your baby’s sleep schedule figured out, they grow up a bit more and change everything on you. Your little one is rapidly developing, which means they need A LOT of sleep, but it also means their sleep patterns are going to evolve often.

Every baby is different, but here are some estimates for how many hours the baby sleeps in the first two years, according to Parents Magazine.

Birth-4 months

4-12 months

1-2 years

The key to finally getting some sort of routine is to track every little thing. With everything going on, it’s really difficult to remember exactly how long they napped or what time they finished nursing, so we’ve created a FREE tracking sheet to keep you and baby organized.
